Ingredients:
- ¼ cup Cardamom pods
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
Bring the water and cardamom pods to a boil (for more intense flavor break the pods in half) then stir in the sugar until fully dissolved. Let the syrup boil for another 1 – 2 minutes and then remove from heat. Allow to cool before straining out the pods and seeds. Use immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.
A bit of advice on the cardamom pods… Don’t go to the spice aisle because it will most likely cost you $14 for less than an ounce. Instead, head to the Indian food aisle and look for a 3 or 4 oz bag for around $6.
