We have been a bit MIA on the blog over the last few months. Vacations and a few personal events took priority, but have no fear, we are back just in time for Labor Day! During our little hiatus, the four of us have seen each a couple times, swapped a few stories as well as recipe ideas. To bring our blog back from the figurative dead, we picked the appropriately named Corpse Reviver #2.
As the name implies, this drink is geared to bring you back to life the morning after a particularly rough evening.
The List:
- ¾ oz of dry gin
- ¾ oz of Lillet Blanc
- ¾ oz Cointreau
- ¾ oz of fresh lemon juice
- Dash of Absinthe
The corpse reviver family of cocktails dates back to 1861, but credit is often given to Harry Craddock in the Savoy Cocktail Book. Please give a read to more of the history here.
The Moves:
- Combine the gin, Lillet, Cointreau and lemon juice in a shaker
- Add a dash of absinthe to a coupe, swirl to coat and dump the excess
- Add ice, shake and double strain into the coupe
- Serve with no garnish
I hope you have exciting Labor Day plans and you may just need a Corpse Reviver #2 over the weekend one morning!
