As Mother Nature transitions to Spring, so should our cocktails. Let’s make a light and refreshing drink that is perfect for enjoying on a porch or patio. The specific gin used has balanced botanicals allowing the elderflower and grapefruit to shine through to create a citrus, fruit flavor while still being wonderful to sip.
- 2 oz Plymouth Gin
- ¼ oz St. Germain
- 2 Dashes of Orange Bitters
- Grapefruit
Vanessa bought me a brilliantly written cocktail book for my birthday and I have taken this recipe directly from Death & Co. Their book includes hundreds of their crafted creations coupled with thoughtful explanations. I haven’t done any personal touches or modifications to this drink as it is already an awesome variation on the Old Fashioned.
The Moves:
- Stir Gin, St. Germain and bitters in a mixing glass with ice
- Strain over fresh ice in an old fashioned glass
- Tease and add a very large grapefruit peel
Make your sweetheart a Cucumber Heaven, stir yourself an Elderfashioned and cheers to the warmer, longer days!
