aka White Chocolate Russian

The Big Lebowski is a great movie that showcases a great cocktail, the White Russian. I have always felt guilty having one, let alone multiple, because of the calories. So here is the Catch 22, how do you reduce the calories while still creating a smooth and creamy drink?

I have always preferred my White Russian heavy on the Kahlua and the same can be said for The Chocolate Dude. This drink starts with a strong coffee flavor and moves to a nice chocolate finish. To cut the calories, I have used skim milk instead of cream.

One of my favorite times to enjoy this drink is right after a fantastic meal that I cannot even think about finishing with a dessert. I definitely prefer the Chocolate Dude rather than a piece of cheesecake.

The weather here has just turned to winter, so tonight I am enjoying this drink in front of the fireplace. Hopefully, it will warm me up until Dave decides the weather is cold enough to turn on the heat.

The Recipe:

• ½ oz Chocolate Vodka
• 1½ oz Kahlua
• Skim milk
• Serve over ice
