Are you a little bored of your regular nice gin martini? Let’s try something just a bit different by enhancing your standard cocktail hour choice. I promise, we won’t go too far out on a limb on this one, but let’s bring a little Maraschino into your life.
The List:
- 1.5 oz Dry Gin
- 1 oz of Maraschino Liquor
- 0.5 oz Dry Vermouth
- Maraschino Cherries
What is Maraschino Liquor? It has a intense aroma with a nutty, pleasant cherry flavor made from the Marasca Cherry that is used during the distillation process. (Gee thanks Dave, but that wasn’t super enlightening). Ok, ok, here is Google on Maraschino Liquor.
The Moves:
- Place one cherry in a chilled martini glass
- Combine all 3 liquors in a shaker with ice
- Shake and pour over the cherry
- Sip and feel sophisticated
This is a great martini for a semi-formal social setting or cocktail hour. Visually, it is stunning as your eyes focus on the bright red cherry at the center of the martini glass. You will have more than one person asking “Wow, what are you drinking?”
