This definitely isn’t an everyday cocktail. You probably don’t have the ingredients on-hand, the presentation is indisputably romantic, and the cocktail’s floral finish is delicate. But The Long Stem is certain to impress and kickstart your evening!
Ingredients
- 2 oz Gin, or Vodka depending on preference. (Note: vodka will allow the floral and sweet notes to really shine through, while the gin brings more of an complex & earthy undertone.)
- 1 oz Rose Syrup (recipe here)
- ½ oz dry Rosé Wine (While you may be tempted to buy a cheap wine since you’re mixing it in a cocktail, please do yourself and your loved one a favor and buy something you’d actually want to drink and enjoy on its own. Because of the delicate flavor of the rose syrup, the wine is in important back note. Also, after finishing the cocktails, you can start on the bottle.)
- Tablespoon lemon juice
Directions
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake vigorously. Pour into a coupe glass and garnish with a rose petal.
